Do you want to move to another country and are wondering what to do with all your stuff? Or do you maybe just want to declutter your house? There are so many things that you are probably not even using. Old books, that you’ve read but don’t want to keep, DVDs that you have watched once and want to leave it at that… there are a thousand reasons, why you may want to loose some “ballast”.
I will only take a few books with me to the US. Simply because it would be to expensive, to ship everything over there – people who have seen my massive amounts of books, will know what I mean ;) But I will not get rid of all of them. Besides I will show up at my parents house often enough, to delight them with my presence. Anyway I managed to slim down my shelves and I put together a whole box of books, CDs and DVDs that I’m not going to miss.
Why not make some money with that?
One of the easiest ways is Amazon’s Trade-In Store. I used this as well as a different service, that is only available in Europe. But there are different websites like this all over the world. Anyway I got a pretty penny out of it. A little over 50,- € and I didn’t have to worry about the shipping cost. Of course there were a few books and CDs that they didn’t want to buy but you find out about this immediately after you enter the title. Even before you ship everything, you will know how much you will get for it. On Amazon you will be paid in Amazon gift cards, other services will pay via check or PayPal, as soon as they could take a look at the items you sent in.
